Not really a big surprise, I would not exactly call Bush grounded in “reality”.  Here is a link to the AP story.  I am particularly amused by the following statement from the article:

He said Republicans still offer the bedrock positions that voters embrace: strong defense, low taxes and personal freedoms.
“When I say I’m confident, I am so because I understand the mentality
of the American people,” Bush said. “And I understand the mentality of
our candidates. And there’s no question in my mind, with your help,
2008 is going to be a great year.”

What a Lunatic! He spent the last couple weeks demanding that the NSA be allowed to monitor all our domestic communications and that Telecom’s be given immunity for their illegal wiretapping, and then he stands on his soapbox and claims that he and his party offer “personal freedoms”.  I would like to see a single way that he has protected my personal freedom during his time his office, and I am sure former Alabama Governor Siegelman would be interested in hearing the same.
