Our boy Trent Reznor and nin released an album straight to the web last night.  I just got done listening to the free tracks and they are damn good.  Head over the site and check it out before they sell out of digital copies…ha!

It seems like these web-releases are becoming quite popular.  I hope more bands start doing this. To hell with the record companies and the RIAA, I am done with their lawsuits, outdated business model, and general bullshit.

So Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon are officially getting their marriage annulled.  Everyone is acting like this whole marriage was a sham and some big publicity stunt… if this is the case you gotta give Rick props.   Get married, spend a couple sex-filled months living out every man’s dream, dump the crazy broad and get on with it.  I did not even know who this guy was until he pulled this stunt… big man points… big points…

According to Snopes.com, it turns out lemmings are not suicidal as we were led to believe… Walt Disney and his cronies forced them off the cliff in the famous video. Lemmings do occasionally try to swim between islands and many end up drowning… not quite as good a story as marching off a cliff by the dozens for the good of the species. Walt probably had Kurt Cobain’s suicide staged too… what a crock.

If I had any money to invest in the stock market, I would probably be keeping this to myself.  Compete.com has a great post where they are discussing investing based on search volume across multiple sites.  Makes a lot of sense… check it out. 

I would buy one of these, but there is no place to let a fatty ride on back. 

Cold as hell in BTown folks…

There are a bunch of firms out there that claim to have various methods of clearing negative stories out of Google’s search results.  With charges ranging from $10/month to $30,000, it appears that Googlewashing is becoming a big business. A couple folks who are probably shelling out cash today…

• La Mesa, CA Mayor Art Madrid who was found drunk in a puddle of vomit with a female city employee
• Arlington, OR mayor Carmen Kontur Gronquist who posted photos of herself in lingerie on MySpace

Between you and I, I had a little incident involving a couple a female chimps and a fifth of Jack Daniels that I would love to see washed off my record. The babies might look like me but I know that I am not the father.  I am a bit short on the $30,000 but I might have to look into this before the zoo starts coming after me for child support.

First off, I don’t really think that global warming is a hoax or a myth.  This story is by no means a reason to go buy a H3 and go on a 5 hour leisurely drive.  A co-worker of mine came in this morning and proudly pronounced that all of us “Global Warming Folks” should go read the news because the Earth is actually cooling.  Needless to say, he was quite pleased with this proof that the environment was fine.

Global warming, global cooling, global dimming… these are all buzz words that relate to the larger issue of climate change.  The planet might get warmer, colder, the clouds may dim out the sun, or it might suddenly start raining beer. Ok maybe not the last one, but I am a bit of a dreamer and have my buckets ready…

The fact that we are seeing one of the worst winters on record is just as much cause for concern as hot summers or as the swirling continent of trash in the Pacific.  This is not about taking sides and declaring global warming a hoax or a definite or that Al Gore is a fool.  We just need to realize that the Earth is a relatively closed system and that our actions will have long-term and short-term effects that we can’t yet predict. As humans we will most like survive whatever change takes place and
there is little we can do to stop the population expansion and resource
consumption of our race.

… I’m hoping for a beer storm or at least a few more cold snowy winters…  Can you say beer blizzard?

Boyd Coddington, legendary hot-rod builder has died at the age of 63.  He was the focus of the American Hot Rod reality TV show and helped the world discover a unique West Coast style.
